My dad forwarded this essay to me this morning. I'm not sure that I agree wholeheartedly, because the essay disregards how much one can learn from a truly great lawyer. (Just ask my hubby how much he learned from Chuck Kettlewell; or ask me how much I learned from Hank Hudspeth or some of the lawyers at MoFo.)
One can have bad professors or good ones; one can learn from bad lawyers or good ones. The point is that law can be a powerful tool, and it's good to learn about the uses of that power from people who use that power wisely.
